This is the most honest framing of medical AI I have seen from a frontier lab, and it lines up with how I already build. The best tools today are co-clinicians: strong assistants that make a clinician better, under the clinician's authority, and worse than the clinician exactly where the stakes spike. If you accept that word, it tells you how to design. It also lines up with a point STAT made well: you judge each AI application on its own evidence, not on the category.
